THE SUCCESS OF ECO DEPENDS ON YOU

A successful outcome of an IVF programme does not only depend on the doctors and embryologist. The woman who undergoes in vitro fertilisation can also contribute to a successful embryo implantation process. It is necessary to prepare in advance.

The women are advised:

  • Refuse to take any medication (if it is not possible to refuse medication, consult a doctor);
  • Avoid smoking, drinking alcohol and taking drugs of any kind;
  • Reconsider their eating habits and avoid strict diets;
  • Limit coffee consumption as much as possible;
  • Avoid contact with people suffering from acute respiratory diseases and any other ailments that can be transmitted to the woman;
  • undergo a detailed medical check-up.

After the embryo transfer has taken place, the woman should also follow certain rules and recommendations.

  • Avoid heavy physical exertion;
  • Avoid hot baths and saunas;
  • Abstain from sports.

After embryo transfer the doctor recommends patients to lie down and relax for a few hours. After the transfer and up to the first pregnancy test after the transfer you can go back to your routine life with a few rules and precautions.

After 14 days after the embryo transfer has taken place, an hCG test should be carried out. HCG is human chorionic gonadotropin. It is a protein – a hormone that begins to be secreted by the membranes of the developing embryo after implantation in the uterus. During the 9 months of pregnancy hCG supports the normal development of the foetus.

An ultrasound scan should also be performed. The first ultrasound is recommended three weeks after the embryo transfer. The second ultrasound is performed 10 days after the first one to confirm the normal development of the pregnancy and to hear the heartbeat of the foetus.

It is important to consult your doctor at all stages of the programme and to follow all his or her instructions and recommendations. It is very important to take the necessary medication. During IVF the doctor will prescribe special medication to prepare the organism for embryo transfer, and afterwards to support the positive development of the foetus.

WHAT ARE DONOR EGGS FOR?

Donor eggs are widely used in modern reproductive medicine, namely for in vitro fertilisation (IVF). This method is used by doctors when a woman’s body does not produce eggs for medical reasons and therefore the patient cannot get pregnant naturally.

Once donor cells are obtained, they are combined with sperm. Donor eggs are cultured together with the sperm of the female recipient’s partner under laboratory conditions. The mature embryos are then transferred to the uterus of the woman who will carry the baby.

Everyone, whether male or female, has the right to a family and children. However, this right may not always be exercised naturally. Modern reproductive medicine makes it possible for infertile couples to become parents without any problems.

Egg donation is an ideal solution that enables women who are unable to conceive naturally, due to some incurable pathology or desperate circumstances, to become happy mothers. Thanks to an egg donation programme, these women find a solution to their infertility problem.

Egg donation is allowed by Ukrainian legislation. The oocyte donors must be between 18 – 35 years old, be completely healthy physically and psychologically, and have their own child, born without complications and not by caesarean section.  The egg donation programme must be formalised in the form of a written contract. The donor is informed in detail about the procedure. The donation is only voluntary and is done by the donor without any kind of coercion or deception. There is also a complete guarantee of anonymity and all information is handled and stored with the utmost confidentiality.
